Langage & sujet : deux objets « radicalement historiques »
Ascal Michon propose dans cet ouvrage une relecture des théories philosophiques, sociologiques et linguistiques du sujet. Il défend l’hypothèse d’une historicité radicale du sujet, celui-ci étant donc une construction et non quelque chose de naturel, en s’attachant à redéfinir les théories contemporaines du sujet pour en montrer les apports à sa propre théorie, mais également les limites.Il constate tout d’abord le primat du social sur le sujet. Ayant déjà publié différents ouvrages sur la notion d’individuation, il évoque une intuition de l’historicité radicale du langage. Pour ce faire, il va d’abord s’intéresser à la situation épistémologique de l’histoire du sujet, puis aux fondements théoriques de l’historicité radicale du sujet humain et enfin il conclut son ouvrage sur les dimensions éthiques et politiques du concept du sujet. Chaque chapitre est consacré à l’examen d’une théorie sur laquelle P. Michon s’appuie dans sa démonstration. De fait, même si la lecture de cet ouvrage peut sembler ardue, et parfois extrêmement technique, notamment par la très faible présence d’exemples illustrant les démonstrations, l’auteur fait montre d’un sérieux et d’une rigueur tout à fait remarquable. À la fois synthèse des théories contemporaines sur le sujet et œuvre de dépassement de ces théories, le livre de P. Michon apporte des réflexions fondamentales sur le langage, le sujet ou encore les notions d’art et de valeur, qui pourraient sans conteste ouvrir de nouvelles perspectives dans les travaux contemporains en sciences humaines qui touchent, tous, quoi qu’on en dise, à la notion d’humain et de langage.
