"In regular public schools, the state requires constant testing and evaluations and that's very stressful for students," Jain said. "Plus, the regular class-room teacher is often handicapped because she has to teach to a state-designed test so that the kids can be evaluated. What I have found is that kids may be making good grades in math but they still don't understand the basic concepts. They may be getting the correct answers but may still have no idea of how they are getting them." "I learned math from many different teachers in many different countries," she said. "Because of that, I learned to pick things up quickly. I had some very good math instructors and some who were not so good. My goal with the students is to take all the knowledge that I have gained and share it with them, using some of the most effective methods that I have found over the years."
